i am a painter from California. started out with fiber art, Oregon Shakespeare, theatre around the west, segued into ballet, industrial slide production, Otis Art Institute, magazine publishing, went to New York and sojourned a year in a back room of Wall Street, book publishing, freelance writing, moved to Florida, graduate studies in philosophy, now I'm teaching art to kids. Back in art again, which I thought I'd left behind in early 80's LA. An old California conceptual/appropriationist of Renaissance sensibility, reconnecting to her roots, many of which are now ripe for appropriation themselves. Ken Brown taught me to try the improbable anyway. Jack Goldstein convinced me I was an artist. Arnold Mesches taught me how paintings are made. Kent Twitchell showed me how I draw.
