My aunt, who was childless and I a teenager, said no and so, no other way to get me out, my mother sold up our home just outside San Francisco--for $26,000 making 100% profit on their 1956 purchase price--and we took off. I asked her, if Atlantis was going to rise in the Caribbean to such an extent that it would cause California to fall into the sea, what did she think would happen to Florida, wouldn't it become perpendicular? She hadn't thought of that; Cayce hadn't said anything about Florida. Nonetheless, my life was never the same again. But then it wouldn't have been anyway. It was 1968, after all.

Motherboard Issues - Notebooks - CNET Forums: "Well, On December 15th I received my computer back and they did replace the motherboard and the computer SEEMS to be working fine in the respect but the 'Built-In' Microphone (the part I was informed was not going to be in until March 18th so I could not understand why I was getting it back) was still not working. When I called Toshiba ONCE AGAIN I was put on hold and was informed at this point that the specs were misprinted and there WAS no built in mic on this unit. Well I asked WHY they told me that they were waiting on the part (they said they tried the first one and it did not work and THAT was a direct quote from their 'depot team') and the guy said that he had no idea but that if my computer seemed to be fixed basically I could file ANOTHER complaint but would get nowhere and to basically just be happy that my computer was working!!!! Was was appalled! I have NEVER been treated so badly by a company or their representatives in my life! I was given information for WEEKS that was incorrect. They should (at the very least) inform thier customer service reps of issues so they can give their customers correct information."

My laptop has the same problem as everybody else. it freezes up, shuts down, over heats, and the sound card doesnt work properly. i sent my laptop in to the Toshiba Depot for repair twice. the first time i send it back was because of windows freezing. i got my laptop back after a month because they didnt have a mother board in stock. then when i got it back, i had the same problem but this time the laptop was over heating, freezing up, and the sound card didnt work properly. so i called up and they told me to send it back...still im waiting for my laptop because once again the freaking mother board isnt in stock.

Also, the Atty General's office makes money off settlements from these types of things. YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT FIXED! If you live in New York State, especially, AG Spitzer is cleaning up this type of customer abuse.
My sister bought an A-75 a week ago and has this problem. She bought a Toshiba on my advice, as all Toshiba laptops I have owned have been bullet proof, so I feel guilty.
Also, contact every tech writer you can think of, NY Times, your city's paper, etc and let them know this is a common problem. Let 60 minutes, hard copy etc. know. Call your local news stations troubleshooter/fraud guy, they love a story like this.
No one at Toshiba told my sis about the static issue... they told her to bring her computer to a repair center an hour away... What happened to customer service? If Toshiba wants to play, then play, call the Attny General, and scream to every media outlet there is."

"i bought this computer in october, it broke in december-- wouldn't boot. took it in for repairs on 12/29 and they determined it was the systems board. as of yesterday, it's still not fixed because the board is on backorder. they won't refund the money, replace the computer, or at the very least extend the warranty for the 2.5 months that it was sitting in the shop broken. also, each time i call they keep extending the date the boards will come in, first it was 2/8, then it was 2/16, now it's 2/24. come on, i'm getting the total runaround here. if this computer works, it's great, but if it breaks, well watch out. save yourself trouble and buy a different computer "
