IE idiocy

I have found that my knitting blog, Defarge, is not easily read on IE. I have further found that this depends on the size of the reader's screen, it's fine on some and not so on others--the sidebars squnch around. And it might not only be my kniting blog, it might be this one, who knows? I don't know how to compensate for this discrepancy and would welcome any ideas if there are any ideas. Firefox, safari, all work fine but, as usual, IE is problematic. Sigh.

Hey, you!

I went over and checked the knitting blog from work (IE, alas) and marvelled at the incredibly beautiful work (WOW!).

Based on my vast experience with hopeless flailing and flights of derring-do with HTML and CSS, I think the squinchiness of the right column is because your "girly girl palette" image is too wide for the column. I believe the column for this template is a fixed width (not sure, but I use a similar one for my "might blog later" blog).

So you would need to check the template to see if it specifies a width, then adjust your image accordingly. Barring that, widen the entire thing. Drop me a line if you need help.

I think I figured out why this place looked new to me a few days ago. I've been looking at it on my very small screened crapola computer, so I couldn't see the pink on the sides. Since all public computers are newer than the one I own, being homeless actually increases my tech savvy, and I can see your whole blog, in all it's multihued glory. Ooooh... ahhhh....

multi-hued. 'tis I. Tell me, is the background to this column (this one right here) black? or white?
